Meet Our Horses
COCHISE is a blanketed Appaloosa, and a team favorite. He is respectful of beginners, but knows how to challenge our more experienced riders. He does very well on the trail and in the ring, but especially loves to jump!
JACK is a bay Quarter Horse. He has provided many of our club members with their first horseback riding lesson. Jack also has a few tricks up his hooves and knows how to bow and fetch! He has since been retired from our lesson program, but he refuses to believe it.
HALF-JACK is a haflinger and is a recent addition to our herd, but was quick to make friends with his pasture mate, Rocky. Half-Jack made his debut Drill Team performance in 2013, and has since returned to offer pony rides at the college's Fall Fest. He is a popular beginner lesson horse and is known for his calm and patient demeanor.
JAMES is a Rocky Mountain horse with a beautiful color called chocolate palomino. He is always the first horse to race to the gate when he knows the club kids are arriving for Friday lessons. He may be the boss of the barn among his paddock friends, but he is one of the kindest horses you will ever meet.
LEVI is a buckskin Tennessee Walking Horse. Although he is not gaited like some Walking horses, he is trained to drive a cart and can jump.
LUKE is a chestnut Quarter Horse cross and has been a member of our Drill Team performance at Saint Vincent College for the past several years. He has been used in both beginner and advanced lessons, and enjoys being in the ring as well as out on a trail ride.
RAZZLE is a palomino paint Quarter Horse cross and has been featured in all of our Drill Team performances at Saint Vincent College and is a reliable lesson horse for beginners who have never ridden a horse prior to taking lessons with us. Razzle has also been featured in all of our Drill Team performances at Saint Vincent College.
ROCKY is a black and white paint Tennessee Walking Horse. His sweet personality in the paddock is a perfect match for his rocking-horse type canter. Rocky was one of the first horses we used in our drill team performances at Saint Vincent College.
SOLLY is short for Solomon, and is a palomino cross. He joined our herd in December of 2015. His previous career was an Amish buggy horse, but he has gone above and beyond our expectations for him as he transitions to the hunt seat world. He is very fond of trail rides and has a very caring and kind personality about him.
SONNY is a palomino paint Quarter Horse cross and a trusty steed for trail rides, as well as ring work.
ERMA is an Arabian Saddlebred paint cross and is Max's full-blood sister. Erma has been to Saint Vincent College on multiple occasions for our Homecoming Drill Team performance, and serves as our tour-guide on our organized trail rides at Saint Vincent College.
MAX is an Arabian Saddlebred paint cross and is Erma's full-blood brother. Max has been to Saint Vincent College on multiple occasions for our Homecoming Drill Team performance, and loves attention. He frequently visits the lesson ring to serve as Dr. Ent's demonstration horse to show beginner riders proper hand and seat position.

Horses We've Loved and Lost
BUD was a bay paint Tennessee Walking Horse. He kept his paddock mates in line, but was an absolute sweet heart towards the lesson kids and a favorite among beginners. Bud frequently performed with the Drill Team. Bud passed away in 2018.
SHAWNEE was a blanketed Appaloosa. He served as a lesson horse for many years and enjoyed his retirement at Doubletree farms. Shawnee passed away in 2018.
WALTER was our 36 year old Shetland pony. Although Walter wasn't used in lessons, he was well known on campus for giving pony rides at homecoming, being a model for the art students, and enjoying the attention at the Earth Day petting zoo. Walter passed away in 2016 after a wonderful and long life on the farm.
